Lamson Remix S HD Fly Reel
Lamson’s Remix S HD takes everything that makes the standard Remix S such a strong value-driven performer and reinforces it for heavier applications. Like the Remix S, this reel blends a CNC-machined aluminum case with a pressure-cast, pocket-spar spool to balance strength, weight, and cost. Where the HD separates itself is in its full-frame design, purpose-built for thin running lines and heavier rod weights, where line escape simply isn’t an option. With increased mass, added rigidity, and sizing that pushes into true big-water territory, the Remix S HD is the right choice for anglers stepping into spey, salt-adjacent work, or powerful freshwater fisheries that demand more control than the standard Remix S was designed to handle. Crafted in models that cover rod weights 7+ through 11+, the Remix S HD has you covered whether you’re swinging up steel with a thin running line or trying your hand at overhead casting for striped bass.
Design
Large Arbor, Full-Frame Hybrid Design – The Remix S HD maintains the large arbor design of the Remix S for fast pickup and efficient spooling, but adds a full-frame design to fully cage the spool. This prevents thin running lines or mono from slipping between the frame and spool, making the HD a better fit for spey setups, shooting heads, or thinner running lines.
Finish
Type II Anodized Case w/ Polyurethane Spool – The machined aluminum case features a harder, brighter Type II anodized finish for improved corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The pressure-cast spool is finished in polyurethane, maintaining durability while complementing the clean, modern Lamson aesthetic.
Materials
Machined Case w/ Reinforced Pressure-Cast Spool – The Remix S HD uses a 6061 aluminum bar-stock case for maximum structural rigidity, paired with a pressure-cast aluminum spool utilizing Lamson’s pocket spar design. The result is a reel that feels noticeably more substantial than the standard Remix S, without sacrificing balance or efficiency.
Drag
Sealed Conical Drag System – A sealed conical drag delivers smooth startup, consistent pressure, and reliable performance across long, demanding fights. The oversized, easy-to-grip drag knob allows for precise adjustments, especially important when managing fast-running fish on heavier rods and thinner running lines.
Arbor Size
Large Arbor – The large arbor build improves retrieve speed, minimizes line memory, and provides ample backing capacity for powerful fish and extended runs, particularly in spey and heavy freshwater applications.
Warranty
Lamson Warranty – As of January 2026, Lamson’s Remix S HD Reels are backed by a manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear, misuse, or damage from improper maintenance are not covered, and Lamson reserves the right to repair or replace components at their own discretion.
