Jiggy PMD Nymph Fly
The PMD, or Pale Morning Dun, looks like any other mayfly nymph but has a small yellow wing case that makes it stand out. The Jiggy PMD succeeds in creating a heavy Euro fly that has that yellow wing case to imitate the nymphal stage of a PMD. Because of the Tungsten head and jig hook, this is a pattern that should be fished in deep water or fast currents. This is a pattern created by Umpqua Signature Tyer Mike Mercer and features a similar design to his Jiggy Caddis pattern. This is a great fly for technical tailwater and spring creeks in the western US and in any fishery where PMDs are prevalent. Use this in a double nymph rig or as a dropper and watch trout go crazy for it. Plus, the barbless hook helps you release fish effectively and safely without harming them.
